Please be aware that the information on the tour permits have changed.
Always remember WATER = Tour Permit. This is true if a den meeting is held at a house that has a pool with a fence around it and you never go anywhere near it. It's a simple process to fill out the permit, it will last for the entire year and that will cover you in case anything happens. Trust me it's worth filling.
You need to file a tour permit if you are going anywhere with your den or pack that is different from your "normal" meeting place. If the parents are not picking their children up and the same place that they dropped them off, file a tour permit. Or if you go to a different location during the den or pack meeting, file a tour permit.
Are you Trained?
Are you a new Leader? Are you confused about were to start? We have trainings once a month called Round Tables and online training to help you be the best and safest leader possible. Here's where to start.
#1. Fast Start online or at night round table. #2. Youth Protection online or at morning and night round tables check newsletter for class times. (Before any den meeting is ever held, one of the den leaders needs to be Youth Protection trained.) #3. New Leader Essentials only available at round tables. #4. Leader Specific only available 4 times a year. Check newsletter for location and times.
Once you have completed these 4 very important trainings then you can check out all the other trainings night time round table has to offer. Durring the summer at least one leader in the den needs to be Safe Swim Defence Trained before any water activities take place. Please make sure you are training before taking the boys to any pool, lake, or any other water source. Training is available online and at night round table.
New Buddies is the theme for August. Come learn how to incorporate the new members of your pack.
Race to Cub Scouts during this time of year we focus on recuitment and helping boys join the packs that best suit their lifestyle. Superstition district is unique in the fact that we will try to put the boy in a pack that fits his family's schedule, or in a pack that his neighborhood friends are in, instead of sending them across town. Regardless if they prefer an L.D.S. unit or a community unit the focus is on the boys and their needs so that they get the best possible exprience of cub scouts.
